Overview

The SpiNXT Viral RNA Extraction Kit utilizes silica membrane based spin column technology for selective binding and purification of viral RNA. Samples are first lysed using an optimized lysis buffer in the presence of Proteinase K, ensuring effective disruption of viral particles and release of viral RNA. Under appropriate binding conditions, viral RNA binds specifically to the silica membrane, while proteins, inhibitors, and other contaminants are removed during subsequent washing steps. The purified RNA is finally eluted in a low-salt buffer, resulting in high-purity viral RNA suitable for downstream molecular diagnostic applications. The kit is validated for use with multiple sample types including serum, plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, urine, nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swabs, cell culture supernatants, and other cell-free body fluids.
