The SpiNXT Saliva DNA Extraction Kit is based on a silica membrane spin column technology for the efficient purification of genomic DNA from human saliva and buccal swab samples. The optimized lysis chemistry ensures effective disruption of cells and release of DNA, while selective binding of DNA to the silica membrane occurs under high-salt conditions. Subsequent wash steps remove proteins, enzymes, inhibitors, and other contaminants commonly present in saliva samples. The bound DNA is finally eluted using a low-salt buffer or nuclease-free water, resulting in high-purity, inhibitor-free genomic DNA. The workflow eliminates the use of hazardous organic solvents such as phenol/chloroform and avoids alcohol precipitation, enabling a safe, rapid, and reproducible extraction process. The purified DNA is suitable for seamless integration into a wide range of downstream molecular biology applications.
