SpiNXT DBS DNA Extraction Kit

SpiNXT DBS DNA Extraction Kit

The SpiNXT DBS DNA Extraction Kit (Dried Blood Spot) is designed for the isolation of genomic DNA from dried blood spot samples collected on filter paper or approved specimen collection cards. The kit supports reliable DNA recovery from limited and dried blood samples, enabling their use in routine molecular biology and genetic analysis workflows where DBS sampling is preferred.

Blood DNA Extraction

Overview

The SpiNXT DBS DNA Extraction Kit is based on a silica membrane based purification method combined with optimized enzymatic lysis for the extraction of genomic DNA from dried blood spot samples. Blood cells immobilized on filter paper are lysed to release DNA, which selectively binds to the silica membrane under appropriate buffer and salt conditions. Following binding, proteins, inhibitors, and other contaminants are removed through sequential wash steps. The DNA is subsequently eluted in a low-salt buffer, resulting in purified genomic DNA suitable for downstream molecular biology applications. The workflow is streamlined, requires minimal handling and centrifugation, and does not involve the use of hazardous organic solvents such as phenol or chloroform or alcohol precipitation.
