The MagNXT DBS DNA Extraction kit provides a fast and simple magnetic bead particles solution for challenging samples like dried blood spots. It allows for the isolation of DNA from the blood of various mammalian species, including humans. The blood should be spotted and dried on suitable filter paper or specimen collection cards. The purified DNA is of high quality and is completely compatible with downstream applications including PCR, qPCR and more.

Blood DNA Extraction

Overview

The MagNXT DBS DNA Extraction Kit is a magnetic bead–based system designed for the efficient and reproducible isolation of genomic DNA from Dried blood spot (DBS) samples. The kit utilizes optimized lysis chemistry to release DNA from dried blood matrices, followed by selective binding of DNA to magnetic beads for rapid purification. Proteins, heme, and other PCR inhibitors are effectively removed through wash steps, resulting in high-purity DNA. The purified DNA is eluted in a low-salt buffer and is immediately compatible with downstream molecular applications. The protocol eliminates the need for hazardous organic solvents, centrifugation, and alcohol precipitation, ensuring a safe, fast, and user-friendly workflow with consistent performance.
