T4-DNA ligase and Rapi-5 Universal Ligation mix are two potential products that aid in cloning by speeding up the ligation procedure.

T4-DNA DNA ligase catalyses the formation of a phosphodiester bond between the adjacent 5’-phosphate and 3’-hydroxyl on the blunt or cohesive end of dsDNA. The enzyme can also catalyse the formation of a bond between RNA and ssDNA or two single strands of a double stranded RNA, however, it cannot establish a link between single stranded nucleic acids. The T4 DNA ligase can be used for labelling the 3’-end of RNA or DNA oligonucleotides, cloning and other nucleic acids manipulations. Rapi-5 Universal Ligation mix includes an optimised connection enhancer and a reaction buffer which considerably improves the enzyme's efficiency. The product allows TA cloning, blunt-end cloning, and cohesive-end cloning of a variety of chemically competent cells. This ligation mix allows cloning in just 5 minutes at 25C with a positive clone rate of >95%.
