Bloodborne diseases, caused by pathogenic microorganisms present in blood and other body fluids, pose significant health risks. These pathogens, including viruses and bacteria, can lead to serious illnesses such as malaria, syphilis, and most notably Hepatitis B (HBV), Hepatitis C (HCV), and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). Bloodborne pathogens like HBV and HIV are transmitted through contact with infected blood and other potentially infectious fluids, including semen, vaginal secretions, cerebrospinal fluid, synovial fluid, pleural fluid, peritoneal fluid, amniotic fluid, saliva (during dental procedures), as well as any body fluid visibly contaminated with blood.
These infections primarily spread prenatally with horizontal transmission, which includes exposure to blood from unsafe injection practices, tattooing, and piercing, as well as through body fluids like saliva, urine, semen, and breast milk. Additional routes include unsafe healthcare practices, unscreened blood transfusions, injection drug use, and sexual practices leading to blood exposure. Diseases can also spread through direct contact with infectious body fluids, causing serious health complications.
G2M provides a comprehensive range of RT-PCR IVD kits designed with high sensitivity and specificity to identify bloodborne diseases accurately. Our RT-PCR kits are compatible with commonly available real-time PCR instruments and ensure no cross-reactivity with other pathogens, guaranteeing precise diagnostics.
